Satellite communications play an important role in the development of ICT in Qatar and the creation of the next generation infrastructure as a foundation for advancement. Es’hailSat is showcasing Es’hail-1, the first satellite for the State of Qatar, which commenced operations on 18th December 2013, Qatar’s National Day. Es’hail-1 is already providing satellite connectivity and high quality, premium DTH television content from the 25.5/26° East neighborhood for leading channels such as Al Jazeera and beIN SPORTS .
Ali Al Kuwari, Chief Executive Officer of Es’hailSat, commented: “As an important pillar in the ICT infrastructure development in the region, we are delighted to participate in the Qatar National Pavilion at ITU Telecom World. Scheduled for launch in 2017, this second high-powered advanced satellite will further boost broadband delivery, broadcasting and global connectivity in Qatar, the entire region and beyond”.
Es’hailSat welcomed a number of important visitors during the event, including HE Dr Mahmoud Vaezi Minister of Communications of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
